Target Buyer Keywords For Lead Generating Content on Your Website

SEO Johannesburg

This post is to show you a way to find subjects to use for new content on your website that will also have the added benefit of bringing you buyer traffic.

So, instead of trying to suck ideas for content out of fresh air, use this method and after a few posts are behind you, you will probably be getting a ton more traffic to your website.

You can watch the video first – and then go down the images for a recap of this process.

How to find keyword topics that have traffic attached.

Step one – Add a plugin to Google Chrome.

The plugin is called Keywords everywhere.

Follow the steps to get it installed and registered.

Step Two

Now you have numbers to work with in your search results.

When you search Google for keywords that might bring you business, you will now have search numbers to work with.

See this example – I searched for Kitchen Companies in London and the results told me that 30 people a month look that exact keyword up.

This will help you decide if the keyword has enough interest to warrant the effort to write up a page or post to get traffic from Google for that keyword.

Step Three – Check the other Google Suggestions for better keywords.

Once you have added in a keyword to research, you can also scroll down to the bottom of the page and most times Google will add more related keyword searches for you to check for potential content opportunities.

Go through all of these, one by one, or let them give you ideas to search for better-related keywords until you find ones that are easy to rank for and are getting a lot of searches.

Step Four – Test all potential keyword ideas

The idea is to find the subjects that you can write about, and that people are searching for ideas or solutions for that keyword.

Look at the suggested keyword ideas for related keywords to test

Step Five takes you into the world of SEO (sorry)

What you are going to do now is see if you have a snowball’s chance in hell to actually rank for that keyword on page one. Now unless you are trying to target huge keywords like “weight loss” where you will have no chance, I still need to show you this step so you can see if you are biting off more than you can chew.

Please remember that very high search keywords have so much competition that those big marketers are spending hundreds and thousands of Dollars to get ranked.

So, to give you a bit of a lesson you need to know that Google has three ways of listing results on the search engines.

Part one is the paid ads

Part two is the Local Search Results – called GMB.

This is a very important place to get leads if you are a local service business, or supply people locally. For example, I do a lot of “Johannesburg Website Designer” leads and others and they bring me in a lot of business.

But, that is not what I am covering on this page (look for my help elsewhere) we are doing organic search results for now. see the next image, please…

Part three of the results page on Google is the “Organic” listings.

This is where we are going to be targeting our efforts.

The first results here in this section can get up to as high as 35% of the clicks when people search. Please note that not only do you need to do the work to rank up here on these pages, but you still need to make the title of your post or page enticing enough to get all the clicks possible.

Please watch the video above here for a bit of an explanation on this part.

OK, lesson over. Now for the next step.

Step five continued

What you are going to do now is to see how strong your opposition is for that number one spot is in the rankings for that keyword.

Right click on the number one listing and open it in a new tab.

Now go to a website called  and add in the URL you just copied.

What you are looking for here are how many back links are pointing to that page and that will tell you if you can create as many or more back links to beat them in the rankings.

Please note that it is not just back links that will get your page ranked well for that keyword, there are more than a dozen factors, but back links are one of the biggest.

See my comments on the information you will find here on this page.

1 – The total number of back links to that entire website. Big authority websites can often have a huge amount. This one in my example has 13 million which is bad for you to try to beat them. This is a big advantage for the authority websites and should give you the motivation to keep on adding great content to your website so that people will want to share and link to your site naturally and often. One day in the future your site might be as powerful as this example.

2 – Trust flow is not that important for you to look at now as a competing factor. a good trust flow is normally above 25.

3 – The citation flow is also not worth worrying about. The big sites can get quite high here, but your content, your page structure, your back links are far more important ranking factors.

4 5 and 6 – These are the numbers you are looking for. When you are using the free version of Majestic you will not be able to see how strong their back links are, but a lot of older websites have many crappy back links.

If you can get a few decent back links with contextual links added in from highly related websites to your site, you will probably beat older websites. If they have 200 back links, you might beat them with as little as 20 good links.

This is not a course on how to do back linking, as that would be a book with 50 videos, but just know that you will need to get links.

In a nut shell – getting ranked for your keywords.

1 – Make sure that your page had more than 500 words. 2000 is far better, but if you are just going to repeat yourself over and over that would be bad.

If you need content idea topics go to and type in your keyword and use those answers as titles for more paragraphs in your pages.

2 – Link a few times from your new page with both contextual links using your keywords and full URL’s to other pages on your site.

3 – Use your keyword and variations of it in your title, in an H1 and H2 title, put it in italics once and bold once. Try to use the keyword at the beginning and at the end of your page.

4 – use related keywords as tags for your post. do not do too many – 20 is just fine.

5 – Get as much social media sharing as possible. This is a BIG ranking factor. Use SocialAdr for this. They are fantastic. 200 to 300 shares are good.

6 – Make sure you have Google XML sitemaps plugin installed with the tags bit ticked. Then once you have published your post, take the URL and go to Google and search for “Submit your URL to Google” and submit the new page.

7 – Build up decent Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts so you can share your stuff there all the time.

8 – create web 2.0 properties like a Wix site or Weebly, Blogger, and Tumblr. Then share each and every page and more on those properties linking back to your page with your chosen contextual links.

9 – Do guest posting and link to that page. Do infographics for use as “guest posts” and link to your page.

10 – If your page gets stuck around page two in the SERPs use this service to go to the top  – Serpclix

5 Obvious Ways To Get More Leads

5 Obvious Ways To Get More Leads

SEO Johannesburg professionalThis is not meant to be a fancy post with tons of details in it, but I get asked the same questions every day and thought that perhaps I should put the answers down here in a post.

This is all about getting rankings and more for your business. Rankings that will get your phone ringing all day.

There are 6 ways to get more leads for your business.

The obvious one is to advertise.

This is a tried and tested method and comes with some really great features.

In the “old days” the nearest you could niche down to your perfect buyer would be a magazine that might be where that person is a reader or a related newspaper. This was a costly method, but it did work OK.

Now you can go online and pay for very highly targeted adverts that can segment your potential buyers by using hundreds of modifiers and end up with your advert beeing placed in front of the perfect prospect. The bad part of this is a learning curve that could be costly, and the obvious fact that you have to keep on paying for traffic forever.

Another positive aspect is that you will not need the services of a person like myself who is an expert at the art of SEO, and will have you building out a lot of content and more over a 6 month period before your site starts to rank organically.

Then you get referrals and word of mouth.

This one is the best method of getting hot buyer clients because they will be sent to you via a previous client that is happy.

The obvious parts of this are you need ex-clients, and you need them to be happy.

If you have a lot of these, then you could add in social media as part of the referral system and become extremely busy. Well done if you have all this.

Another great way is networking all the time.

The fine art of networking is something that doesn’t come naturally for a lot of people and needs constant work to maintain.

If your business is the type that works well with networking then this is an important aspect of your marketing. If – for example – you were a kitchen manufacturer, then you should be well connected with all the related industries, plumbers, appliance people etc.

If your business is big enough then it would pay you to employ a professional in-house PR person for this exact task.

Then you get social media – which is just a combination of networking and referrals –  but online

Social media is amazing and grows and changes all the time.

BUT, while it can be a fantastic way to grow awareness of your services or products, you need to keep this method of marketing under firm control.

Plus – if done right, it is another thing that should have a full-time person working in-house on this side all the time.

Watch out, it can also backfire on you in a bad way. Negative marketing is becoming commonplace on social media. I see threats and complaints almost every day.

On the positive side? When done right it can bring you in a flood of customers. This is a little niche specific though, so it would depend on your niche.

Then you get organic search results online. This is a big one.

EVERY business, every top manager should have a powerful online ORGANIC presence.

You see, no matter what you do, your business is going to rank for something over time online. If you are not controlling that then you are behaving really stupidly.

Plus it is so easy to work at targeting buyer keywords and when done right will keep your phone ringing forever.

It is a little costly for the first 6 months or year, but after that, you can tick it over with a lot less spending and you will be able to sit back and enjoy the benefit of ranking for THOUSANDS of keywords related to your business.

Finally, local search online.

This is still local search and organic search but it directly connected to the Google business listing.

This GMB listing is a separate thing as far as setting up and doing SEO work on it, but can – when done right – bring in 80% of your leads.

Well because Google KNOWS that your business is probably a “Local Business” meaning that it is area specific.

When that happens Google will serve up the 3-pack local search GMB listing first.

Those businesses that are listed in the top three will get the phone calls.
