Hammock Stand
WARNING
While there are thousands upon thousands of Hammock stands being sold every day, you need to be careful.
It is a sad fact of life that most people will try to wring an extra buck out of you in any way possible. Time and time again I have seen manufacturers spending more time trying to save money in the design and costing of a product that the actual effort to improve the same product.
Hammock stands are a great case in point.
I seemed to be endlessly trying to make my hammock stands stronger, while watching the stands of my opposition getting thinner and thinner.
Please. I weigh 125kg’s and there is no way that you will get me to lie down in a stand that looks like I could bend it with my hands. Yet I saw people buying them day after day.
If they asked me why my stand was double the price it used to confuse me, as i could see that they had perfect eyesight.
her is a case in point where a U.S. Government recall was done for a hammock stand. Now i do not for a minute think that the hammock company that ordered this hammock stand from China decided to get crappy stands on purpose. But I am fairly sure that the factory that they ordered them from spends almost all their waking hours trying to cut costs somewhere.
Before you make a purchase I suggest that you check the weight limit specified on the product.
Another thing that you have to consider- if you leave a crowd of people alone near your hammock – it will not be very long before more than one piles into the hammock. Then after it has broken, all they will do is say “sorry”. BUT what if the stand snaps and spikes some teenager through the stomach?
I suggest that you either use a better system to secure your hammock or get a high quality stand.
